Charlotta Carter on Her Business Diversity Goals
When asked about what the successful outcomes of DVRSTY-STEM Accelerators would look like by Janice Edwards, Charlotta Carter highlighted her vision when she said, “If you look at what successful growth and diversity look like, there are several layers. You really need to have a foundation where executives have bought into the idea. If you don’t have that conviction, the rest of it is just noise. If you achieve buy-in at the executive level, then you can start to build on programs that foster a company culture. Such a culture will allow diverse resources to be utilized and a diverse employee to thrive. Once this culture is in place, the pipeline will do the rest. The pipeline is never the issue. It’s the buy-in from the top, the strategic programs put effectively in place and the fostering of as culture where a diverse employee can thrive.”
